The Design-Build Institute of America Southwest Region and the Water Collaborative Delivery Association are partnering to expand access to design-build for Texas’ small and rural communities. Their joint advocacy aims to modernize Texas law, empower municipalities, and deliver faster, more cost-effective water infrastructure projects.

The Smith & Perkins Renovation & Expansion at SMU has earned a 2025 DBIA Project/Team Merit Award. Delivered in under a year, this design-build project united two historic residence halls, preserved SMU’s Collegiate Georgian style, and added modern amenities. With a 7.5% budget reduction, enhanced accessibility, and innovative collaboration, the project sets a new standard for campus living in the Southwest.
