A Guide to Equitable Risk Allocation in Design-Build Projects

Design-build is reshaping the design and construction industry, with nearly half of all non-residential projects now delivered through this method—your perspective is essential to guiding its evolution.  By sharing your experience in this short questionnaire, you’ll help improve progressive design-build practices and ensure that design excellence and equitable risk allocation remains central to this rapidly growing delivery model.

The Charles Pankow Foundation, the ACEC Research Institute, the Design-Build Institute of America, and the University of Colorado Boulder are conducting research to evaluate how variations of Progressive Design-Build (PDB) address risks and challenges for design/construction teams. Your feedback will help shape best practices in design-build project delivery.

  • You are invited to contribute to recently completed progressive design-build projects through the questionnaire link below.

  • We are seeking completed projects so that we can compare project performance.

  • All answers will be kept confidential and will only be reported in aggregate.

  • For your participation, we will share the results of this study prior to publication for the public.
