The DBIA Southwest Region’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan charts a bold course for the next five years, uniting our chapters, leaders, and members under a shared vision and mission.
VISION
To ignite a passionate community of design-build leaders where collaboration fuels innovation, excitement, and a legacy of excellence.
MISSION
To promote the value of design-build project delivery and teach the effective integration of design and construction services to ensure success for owners and practitioners.
OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
Through a collaborative planning process, the Board identified four strategic priorities that will guide the Region’s work:
Build Organizational Strength

We will strengthen our leadership foundation, ensure sustainability, and invest in systems that keep our region thriving.
Key Outcomes by 2030:
Clear leadership roles, training, and succession plans in place
Quarterly regional coordination meetings
Achieve Chapter Synergy & Programming Consistency

We will unify our chapters through shared resources, consistent programming, and mutual support.
Key Outcomes by 2030:
All chapters hosting at least 2 events annually
Shared “Events in a Box” toolkit implemented region-wide
100% alignment with DBIA “Done Right” framework
Quarterly NextGen events
Deepen Owner Engagement & Advocacy

We will expand owner participation and make DBIA the go-to resource for design-build education and networking.
Key Outcomes by 2030:
Owner Committee established with chapter representation
Annual Owner Recognition Award launched
Expand Outreach, Visibility, & Industry Partnerships

We will amplify DBIA’s presence in the AEC community and foster partnerships that strengthen our network.
Key Outcomes by 2030:
Branded outreach toolkit for all chapters
3+ co-hosted events with peer AEC associations annually
DBIA presentations at 3+ non-DBIA events per year

IMPLEMENTATION & ACCOUNTABILITY
The plan is supported by detailed SMART goals, timelines, and success indicators assigned to specific champions and committees. Progress will be tracked quarterly, with a mid-cycle review in 2028 and a full plan review and refresh in 2030.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
By executing this plan, DBIA-SW will:
Increase chapter alignment and collaboration.
Grow owner engagement and influence.
Strengthen brand visibility and industry recognition.
Ensure leadership continuity and organizational sustainability.
Inspire and empower the next generation of design-build leaders.
