Thomas Lyon is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Airport Development at DFW International Airport.  Tom is a seasoned aviation professional boasting an impressive 30-year journey marked by continuous growth in airport development programs. Armed with a B.S. in Construction Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Tom is a licensed professional engineer in Texas and Illinois. Additionally, he has earned the prestigious Certified Construction Manager certificate from the Construction Manager’s Association of America, where he has also been appointed to their Board of Directors.

 

Tom's career has been defined by his ability to lead teams through substantial and intricate airport initiatives, demonstrating a consistent track record of success. His expertise spans the spectrum of airport development, including project and construction management, grant strategy formulation, project controls implementation, contract administration, field inspection, safety enforcement, quality assurance, and commissioning oversight.

 

Throughout his professional journey, Tom has overseen the management of nearly $16 billion in construction projects, highlighted by the construction of 4 new runways, 2 runway extensions and 4 runway rehabilitations and the multi-billion dollar Central Terminal Expansion Program, the Terminal F Program and the Infrastructure Capital Program.
