No Looking Back: How Alternative Delivery Performed on the Billion Dollar Lake Ralph Hall Program.

Our program will present an overview of how alternative delivery, both progressive design-build and construction manager at risk, were employed to deliver the billion-dollar Lake Ralph Hall Program. We will discuss the District’s thought process in selecting these delivery models for the specific projects they were applied to. We will briefly discuss our procurement process and how schedule and project cost considerations played into a strategy of awarding multiple contract amendments was used to build to a final GMP for each alternative deliver contract. We will also discuss how the alternative delivery models offered flexibility on managing the program costs and schedule. Finally, we will present some lessons learned from using alternative delivery for major elements of the Lake Ralph Hall Program.
