Central Texas endured devastating flash floods after historic rainfall caused the Guadalupe River to surge in less than an hour. Communities in Kerrville, Hunt, Ingram, and the Texas Hill Country have seen homes submerged, cherished items swept away, and more than 120 lives lost—many of them children at Camp Mystic.
Yet even amid this heartbreak, hope shines through. Nonprofits, faith groups, and community organizations are working tirelessly to provide food, shelter, cleanup support, and emotional care to those impacted.
What’s Already Being Done
The Salvation Army has five mobile kitchens operating daily, serving thousands of meals, drinks, and snacks, and distributing hundreds of cleanup and hygiene kits. ESC teams are on-site offering emotional care and prayer support.
World Central Kitchen has established field kitchens providing hot meals and hydration to survivors and responders.
Mercy Chefs is deploying support to affected counties, helping sustain communities with prepared meals.
Texans on Mission has organized teams ready for ground relief work—contributing local muscle and community care.
The Community Foundation’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund offers a trusted way to get financial help directly to families and recovery projects.
