Project Description:
Haskell was selected to repurpose a 50-year-old warehouse into a state-of-the-art facility for producing low-proof and spirit-based alcoholic beverages. The facility was designed to can beverages in 12-ounce standard and sleek cans, with future capabilities for 16-ounce and 24-ounce standard cans.
This design-build renovation project accommodated process and packaging lines, specifically focusing on constructing two malt beverage and spirits-based Ready-to-Drink (RTD) can lines. The two high-speed lines can produce up to 25 million cases per year. The project included integrating associated blending and processing systems to enhance efficiency and functionality.
Along with the magnitude of architectural, structural, civil, and utility upgrades to meet the standards of a beverage process/packaging facility, two new independent process and packaging lines were designed. Those required services such as 2D/3D simulation, emulation, budget creation, feasibility analysis, equipment procurement and mechanical and electrical installation drawings.
Over 90 tons of steel were added to support platforms, conveyors, piping, and electrical systems. By placing electrical conduits and feeds under the slab, Haskell accelerated installation by six weeks and saved approximately $2.5 million.
