The 2025 Design-Build Conference & Expo is headed to Las Vegas this fall—and so are some of the best opportunities of the year for university students interested in design-build.

If you’re a student looking to grow your network, sharpen your industry knowledge, or land that first big internship or job, this is the event you want to be at.

Here’s why:

1. Be a Student Volunteer (and Attend for Free!)

DBIA is now accepting early interest for student volunteers to help with conference logistics at the 2025 Design-Build Conference & Expo, happening November 5–7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Volunteering is more than just helping behind the scenes. It gives you a front-row seat to real-world design-build conversations, exposes you to leading-edge projects, and helps you connect with professionals across the AEC industry. Best of all? Your conference registration is free.

Interested? Reach out to Bill Hasbrook at whasbrook@dbia.org.

2. Shadow a DBIA Fellow

Another unique student opportunity: the Student/Fellow Shadow Program. This initiative pairs students with seasoned DBIA Fellows for one-on-one mentorship throughout the conference. It’s a powerful way to build relationships, gain insight into the industry, and get direct introductions to potential employers.

In fact, every student who participated last year landed an interview, internship, or job offer.

More details are coming soon, but now’s the time to start thinking about who from your Student Chapter might want to participate. Questions? Email Bill Hasbrook (whasbrook@dbia.org).
