Are you an owner interested in hearing from other experienced Owners about the detail and decision points in the design-build process? Join DBIA-SW Owners’ Council for session #1 of the 2021 Owners’ Council Quarterly Roundtable Series.
The virtual discussion will attempt to take a deeper dive into topics like communication and developing trust, strategies for building teams, and managing and evaluating risk. Collaborate with and hear from other regional owners on how to make your projects successful. Email dee@dbia-sw.org for more information or to forward a topic for discussion. Topic #1 Trust How well are you communicating with your design-build team? Are you getting good budgeting information so that you can make solid decisions as a team? Are you reviewing trend logs? Are contingency decisions being made together?
Topic #2 How Are You Establishing Your Team for Success with Design-Build? Are You Seeking Credentialed Teams - on the design-build side? How about the Owner's side? Do you have an integrated project leader (someone that can communicate across the teams)? Chartering - how do you decide how you are going to work together, how are you establishing your decision-making process, what are the goals, and what does success look like?
Topic #3 Liability Triangle/Making Risk Decisions: How are you managing and allocating risk between Owners and Design-Builders? Why are you using design-build?
