Boka Powell
Don Powell is a partner and design principal at BOKA Powell Architects, a Dallas-based planning and design firm focused on corporate and commercial office, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. Don grew up in a family of builders in Muncie, Indiana, outside of Indianapolis. By thirteen, he was working commercial construction projects with his father, and soon thereafter on his way to an architecture degree from Ball State University. More than four decades ago, Don relocated from the Midwest to Dallas and launched the firm now known as BOKA Powell. His prolific body of work has encompassed tens of millions of square feet ― from the NASA mission operations wing for the space station in Houston to the Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel. Don supports Design-Build as the best project delivery methodology to assure high performance systems solutions, desired aesthetic outcomes, and cost assurance.
