The golf tournament is not only the biggest fundraiser for the DBIA-SW Region, but it is also the biggest fundraiser for the Scholarship Fund, which in its inaugural year doled out funds to an outstanding future design-build leader and an educator focused on advancing the field. The fund was privileged to award two scholarships to two University of Oklahoma's exemplary design-build advocates - senior Ethan Watson and Robert E. Busch Endowed Professor of Construction Science, Dr. Tamera McCuen, who is using her grant to integrate design-build into the curriculum. Supporting our young leaders and educators is one of the best things our region can do to continue to foster a healthy design-build marketplace and advance design-build best practices in our industry.
