DBIA-Houston Chapter Hosting August 13 Luncheon

The DBIA-Houston Chapter is proud to announce their next chapter luncheon presentation “Successful Application of Design-Build for Tunneling Projects” will be held August 13, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at The HESS Club in Houston.

**Due to the popularity of this event we have moved to a slightly larger room with a limited number of additional seats now available!

Design-Build for tunneling projects is radically different as compared to above-ground construction. Tunneling requires the creation of subsurface space inside of which the finished facility will be constructed and much of the cost and most the risk for a tunneling project is related to the creation of that space. Hence, a clear understanding of the ground conditions in which the tunnel will be constructed is of paramount importance to project success. Other issues associated with successful Design-Build for tunneling projects such as team structure, project procurement, design development, and construction-phase considerations will also be discussed during this presentation featuring presenters Dr. Gary Brierley and David J Hatem.
