The DBIA-Southwest Region's 2013 Board of Directors slate was approved at the 9th Annual DBIA-SW Region Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 16-17, 2013. Thomas Stazula now begins his two-year term as Southwest Region Chair, Hugh Sanford is Vice-Chair, Michael Stubbs is Secretary and Rodney D'Spain was elected to the Treasurer position. Please also join us in welcoming Chris Butler, Kim L. Macy and Mark Penny as new members to the DBIA-Southwest Region Board. In addition, the following board members renewed their terms for another two years of service: David Bloxom, Christopher Carr, Raquel Ibarra, Randy Landers, Randy Nance, Shirley J. Ross and Drew Yaggy. The Southwest Region looks forward to another year of excellent leadership and continued success.

This luncheon event features a presentation by Barbara Jackson, Ph.D., and DBIA Professional is a Professor of Construction Management in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA and Director of the Center for Integrated Project Leadership for the Built Environment, an educational outreach organization that serves the AEC industry and owner groups. Ms. Jackson will deliver her philosophy on some fundamental principles and practices that help design-build teams make the mental shift so they can perform "as one" and therefore leverage the collective intelligence of the contractors, architects, engineers, and owners who work together using a design-build approach to design and develop comprehensive integrated solutions.

The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of DBIA-Southwest welcomes Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price and key department heads as they discuss the City's rapid growth, current and proposed infrastructure projects to serve that growth, and design-build opportunities associated with those projects.
