Hugh Sanford, DBIA, LEED AP

Hugh Sanford is a professional construction manager for The BECK Group. He has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science degree from the University of Oklahoma and over 30 years of experience in the industry. Before joining BECK in 1998, Hugh worked for over seven years as an Engineer Technician for both Civil and Environmental Engineering firms. For BECK, Hugh brings many skills to his projects, particularly project management and administration of multi-million dollar projects, including estimating, submittals, procurement, and subcontract management. His field expertise includes surveying, material testing, mapping, construction and logistics.

Michael A. Stubbs, PE, DBIA

Mr. Stubbs, president of Stubbs Engineering, Inc., has worked in both the engineering design and construction fields. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He is also a certified Design Build Professional with DBIA. He has thirteen years of experience in Structural Engineering. He has provided structural engineering for Police and Court facilities, Churches, a nine story hospital, Commercial Developments and a Copper Blast Furnace.

Drew Yaggy, P.E., DBIA

Drew Yaggy provides preconstruction and design services for TDIndustries, a facilities service and specialty construction company that serves the Southwest Region and Arizona. Drew holds a BS degree in Engineering from Texas Tech University and has over 35 years experience in design, estimating, and construction management of mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, institutional and sports facilities. TDIndustries is an employee-owned company with more than 1600 partners, with annual revenues in excess of $300 million and ranked 48th among the Top 600 Specialty Contractors by Engineering News-Record in 2007. Drew joined TDIndustries in 1993 as Chief Engineer and earned his DBIA Professional designation in 2003.

David Bowlin serves as Chief Operations Officer with Broaddus & Associates and brings over 25 years of diverse experience from the perspective of both the Owner and Design/Builder. David holds a BS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Masters Degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Stanford University. David Bloxom, DBIA

David is President of Speed Fab-Crete Corporation, a full-service design-build general contractor firm based in Fort Worth, Texas. The 56-year-old firm is the oldest, continuing structural precast concrete products firm in Texas. David holds a BS degree from Abilene Christian University and a Masters from the University of Chicago. He is also a DBIA designated professional.

Christopher Carr

Chris Carr is a senior mechanical engineer at Brandt where he focuses primarily on design-build new construction and major renovation projects. His design-build work experience includes healthcare facilities, office buildings, academic institutions, and data centers. Most recently he was the lead mechanical designer for the Hill & Wilkinson Corporate Headquarters, a 35,000 square foot office facility and the Forest Park Medical Center Frisco, a 130,000 square foot 54 bed acute care hospital. Chris received bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from Texas Tech University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a DBIA Designated Design-Build Professional.

Ken Easley

Ken Easley

Ken Easley has worked in the construction industry for nearly 30 years, primarily in the Southwest, with projects in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, with additional work overseas. He has been involved with a full range of project types, including schools, healthcare facilities, office complexes, laboratories and clean rooms. Mr. Easley is versed in various contracting methods, including Design Build, and is very skilled in contract administration, scheduling and estimating. Mr. Easley joined Flintco, Inc. in 1994 as a Project Superintendent and has moved through the ranks up to Vice President of the Albuquerque Office. Flintco, Inc., a century old, privately held corporation, is the largest Native American-owned construction company in the nation.

Homer Guy, PE, AIA, DBIA, LEED AP

Homer Guy has more than 35 years of worldwide architectural and engineering design, design-build, construction, and public works experience. He holds an Architecture Bachelors from Iowa State University and a Masters of Architectural Engineering from Oklahoma State University and is a registered architect and professional engineer (civil). He is an active member of AIA, ASTM, AGC and a Fellow in the Society of American Military Engineers as well as a member of the DBIA Water/Wastewater Conference Planning Committee and secretary of the DBIA's Sustainability committee. He completed military service as an Air Force civil engineering colonel and is the author of numerous design-build, sustainability, and small business publications and presentations.

Koob

Nathan Jacob Koob, AIA, LEED AP

With a strong background in design, Nathan is passionate about taking projects from conceptual napkin sketch to grand opening ceremony. His motivation is in helping clients reach the next level and move their program forward. Nathan understands that any successful sports facility must invoke an experience and he thrives on leading a team in taking a bold, refreshing approach to sports venue design. Nathan is a graduate of the Oklahoma State University School of Architecture and has eleven years of experience specializing in healthcare and sports architecture. Nathan currently serves as the director of sports for Crafton Tull Sparks, a 250 person, full-service architectural and engineering firm with 6 offices located in the midwest. He is a licensed practicing architect in Oklahoma and is a LEED accredited professional. Nathan served as the design team project manager on the recently completed Simpson Athletics and Academic Center project at Baylor University via a fast-track, design-build process in partnership with the BECK Group. This new facility has been instrumental in moving Baylor's athletic programs forward and also received LEED silver certification this past spring, becoming the city of Waco's and Baylor University's first LEED certified building. As a proponent of the design-build delivery method, Nathan understands first-hand the significance and value afforded to building owners when the architect and contractor are partnered in a true team relationship. When not sketching on napkins, Nathan enjoys traveling the world with his wife, often in search of Art Nouveau architecture.

Janet E. Lacy, R.A.

Janet E. Lacy was formerly a Staff Architect with Albuquerque Public Schools Department of Facilities Design + Construction. Prior to joining APS in 2006, she spent almost ten years as a design-build project manager with Chavez-Grieves Consulting Engineers in Albuquerque. Janet has worked with many clients as they employ design build project delivery for the first time. She has received several project recognitions, including the 2005 Southwest Contractors Magazine Best New Mexico Design-Build Project for the National Security Sciences Building in Los Alamos, and the ACEC National Recognition Award for the Strategic Computing Complex.

Spencer Moore

Spencer Moore

Spencer Moore has an MBA from the University of Houston, with undergraduate and master’s degrees in Construction Management from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining the University of Houston System, he served as Project Director in Capital Planning & Management at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Spencer also served in various roles in the Real Estate departments of Hewlett Packard and Texas Children’s Hospital. He also serves on the board of the David E. Weekly YMCA as chairperson of the Capital Planning and Expansion Committee, managing their current expansion.

Peter Narvarte

Peter Narvarte, DBIA, LEED AP, GAC

Pete Narvarte, DBIA, LEED® AP, GAC, serves as Preconstruction Services Manager for the Flintco Texas Division based in Austin, Texas. With over 13 years of experience, Pete's expertise includes scope and cost management, scheduling, constructability review, estimating, value analysis and bid packaging. Pete provides project development expertise during the design phase to help customers define needs and determine scope based on his experience in project management and field operations. Peter's previous projects include the $250 million Grand Avenue Bus Depot and Central Maintenance Facility in Queens, New York, a design-build, green-built project for the New York City Transit Authority. It was the largest project of its kind in North America and is used as a model for Transportation Authorities around the country. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Shirley J. Ross

Shirley J. Ross

Ms. Ross has more than 25 years of executive experience in sales, marketing, government relations, strategic planning, and project delivery in water utility and environmental consulting, engineering, operations, and construction. At CDM Inc. Ms. Ross is responsible for business development and marketing activities for a diverse group of clients across the Central Texas Region including River Authorities, municipalities, state agencies and special districts centered on providing water resources services. She works closely with these clients to find solutions to their water planning, supply, and project implementation needs and to leverage CDM’s resources to meet these needs. In addition, she utilizes her background and expertise in alternative project delivery methods to assist clients and internal staff with alternative delivery pursuits and projects. Besides her involvement with DBIA, Ms. Ross is a member of the Water Environment Federation, the National League of Cities, the American Water Works Association and U.S. Conference of Mayors.

John P. Shanks III, DBIA

John Shanks is the first and current Chapter President of the North Texas DBIA Chapter. He runs the business development team for NoteVault a global AE/C mobile transcription and reporting company. After graduating in the School of Architecture at Texas A&M with a degree in Building Construction, he worked in each of the major components of the AE/C industry. During John's 30 plus years of experience in the industry he has been an Owner / Developer, Architect, General Contractor, Subcontractor, Supplier, Manufacturer and construction software provider. His understanding of what everyone brings to the table on a construction project helps as he sources pertinent speakers for local chapter meetings in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.
